Mom, can we share clothes?

Today was a high of about 75 degrees and the entire town couldn't wait to enjoy such beautiful weather (counting down till Spring break!). So I instantly wanted to pull out my pair of DIY denim. Although I had some strange glares here and there during the morning but I'm sure those same people soon found that I wasn't too crazy once the sun came beaming down. This vintage blouse was purchased at Design Archives. A wonderful shop to find all sorts of vintage goodies. When my mother noticed that I had purchased these blouses, her first response was, "Why are you wearing old ladies tops? You know I have a ton of these in my closet." My mother has a bunch of great stuff in her closet but she never wears any of them so now, we are officially sharing clothes :) I really like these sheer blouses. They are so comfy and great for the summer's heat.
Here's my latest shoe purchases. I absolutely cannot wait to wear those black thigh-high Steve Madden boots! It was such a good sale! My house is filled with shoes and no place to store them. I think we have enough shoes for 3 full closets. But that's not a reason to stop. Maybe a yard sale over the summer?
P.S.
Oh, and about the couch, I found it randomly laying on the side of the road.

So for valentine's day, I made my bf a box filled with goodies because he's always hungry and stuck in the library.

Since it was Monday, we were both busy with classes and couldn't meet till later that day plus he had to drive a long way to come see me. He bought me yummy stuff from his favorite bakery. Food makes me so happy. Seriously, the saying, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach", should be switched around in my case.

He also surprised me with a new Armani Exchange bag and I've been needing a new throw blanket and this Gucci one was so soft and warm.

I recently got my little sister into vintage goodies. So when I took her with me, she found the cutest vintage purse circa 1887. Over 100 years ago!! It is in perfect condition and I really adore the pine green color.

Here are some of my sketches for new designs that I'm working on for our latest project.

I apologize for the the long delay. As you can see, I have all the pictures but just no time to update. This is by far my busiest semester and things probably won't get any better from here. It has been some busy yet eventful past couple of days. I tried sharing as much as I could in this entry.
So this is my third year as a design major and as a requirement before I graduate, I need to fulfill an internship. I've been applying and looking at many places. I would love to go out to NY but anywhere will do. I'm quite excited and can't wait to see what the future entails!

The knitted skirt in the last set of images is made by my beloved mother. I am lucky to have such a talented mother who teaches me so many things. Not only life lessons but she's also the inspiration to follow my dreams and pursue them. I love her dearly.
This has been the longest week! Today is the first day I officially made up for the lack of sleep I've been missing all week long. I literally went through 3 straight days with only 5.5 hours of sleep. On day 3, I really felt as if I was hallucinating. The most terrible feeling. I wish it was avoidable but it's tough having 2 projects due back to back. I'm sure everyone is guilty of being a procrastinator but this semester, I am determine to not be a victim. So I've worked diligently and consistently every day. So how is it that I feel like I'm doing everything right yet I end up pulling all nighters the night before the projects are due still? Sigh...
Well here is one of the project I had to complete. For my studio class, we were assigned to use 3 beefy Hanes t-shirts and design a garment using ALL 3 t-shirts (literally every part of it. From the tags to the ribbed collars). I did a weaving piece to go with the bottom part of the dress and dyed parts of this dress with thai tea. The colors turned out great and better than I had anticipated.
I don't have a good quality image of the finished product but here is the design at it's working stage when I worked on it over the past weekend.

I also purchased a Wacom Bamboo tablet and am in love with it. It's so great for beginners who are exploring Adobe, like myself. I find it to be so helpful when using Adobe Illustrator. I highly recommend this because it's so affordable and does its job great!

Also, HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!!
This is a one of my favorite thing about Lunar New Year. This treat is called banh tet which is traditionally eaten on "tet" (Lunar New Year) day.
