Contrasting Tones

This outfit was worn yesterday. As the snow is melting and the sun is starting to come out, I wanted to combine the warm and cool tones together in my wardrobe. The burnt orange in the jacket really brings out the blue. This attire was very much inspired by the current weather.

Season of Hibernation

Like animals, we all try to stay warm in our homes to avoid this frigid weather. The snow have iced up so if only you knew how tough it was for me to walk in my wedges to shoot my outfit. I think it's bizarre that some restaurants and stores expect people to shop when they don't find the time to shovel their parking lots/sidewalks for customers. But I guess it wasn't smart on my part to wear such shoes in this type of weather. What can I do? I've been wanting to wear these ever since I got them for Christmas! Clearly a desperate decision.

So we basically had a snow blizzard and it makes me so happy to view such beautiful sceneries. Plus this is a wonderful opportunity for me to snap some shots with my new camera! I am totally sold and in love! I also decided to make some fried sticky rice patties today and they turned out to be so yummy!

Happy Holidays!

I had such a wonderful day with my loved ones and I hope you are too! I had the biggest surprise, as you can see above (excuse the over-excited expression), from the sweetest boyfriend and sister. I cannot believe I'm getting a new camera upgrade (Canon Rebel T2i)! I will be selling my old camera and I will miss it dearly but I can already see a great relationship with my new one! If you're interested in purchasing my old camera (Canon Rebel XT), please contact me.

Asymmetric

Chiffon sheer fabrics has got to be my new favorite fabric choice. That's why when I first saw this dress, I knew I had to have it. The details on this dress is mesmerizing. From the pleats on top of the dress, to the flowery designs on the fabric itself. The entire dress was actually not lined at all. So everything was see-through. Therefore, I had to pair it with a black skirt and bandu underneath. The structure of this dress was a little too plain for me so I wanted to jazz it up a bit. I ended up with this asymmetrical look in which I gathered the waist for the front part of the dress and left the entire back alone. I would prefer this with a different belt of course but in the midst of moving my clothes from the apartment to my house, things tend to get lost.
Also, here is a DIY tutorial I did the other day and just haven't had the chance to post it up. This is by far the busiest holiday for me this year. For this DIY, I wanted to show everyone a simple technique that you can use to shorten a long sleeve shirt. Have you ever gone shopping and found the "almost" perfect shirt and everything fits very well except for the sleeves? Well here's an easy fix to that. If you have large sweatshirts laying around from your father or bf, you can use this technique to incorporate it to a cute dress. Hope you all enjoy!

Winter Blues

The title does not relate to my mood but rather my outfit of the day. I love this scarf! It's actually a birthday present from a dear friend. I can't believe that the countdown till Christmas is only 7 days away! It's been one busy break. My family and I are doing house renovations while catching up on Christmas shopping which is truly hard when we're getting closer to crunch time! This is the last weekend for last minute Christmas shoppers so you can imagine the chaos! It almost reminded me of Black Friday but not as frightening.

Neck Brace

Here is another scarf my mother knitted. This is one of my favorite. It is literally below freezing out there! So I love how I can use this as a mask when my nose starts feeling numb. Very helpful for warmth I would say! I really like her criss cross knit work as well as the gathers on both ends. This adds a flare and gives room to stretch over the shoulder. I did a little Christmas shopping today and have more to go! It's easy to just pick a present but really takes time when trying to pick out the right present. So I'm looking forward to do some last minute Christmas shopping this weekend! Stay warm everyone!

Black & Brown

Today was a gloomy day but I wasn't going to let that ruin my day. I was in the mood for some vintage/thrift shopping and that's exactly what I did. There weren't too many good finds today. I was quite disappointed to be honest. But hey, that's the thing about thrift shopping, you'll find more junk than gems. That is also the reason that makes the experience so exciting. You have to be VERY patient and when you do find that special item, the feeling of accomplishment will make for a really good mood (or for me at least). So with patience, I did manage to purchase a really cute grey, strong-shoulder blazer. I'm getting it cleaned so once it is, I will be sure to post an outfit with it up.

Lets Celebrate!

Time to celebrate because I'm officially done with all of my finals! I've been ready for this Winter break for the longest and it's finally here! Now I can relax, take a breather and prepare for the holidays. I'm ready to fill the bottom of my Christmas tree with all of the goodies! I'm also thankful for this break because now, I can finally take the time to design and make garments for the fashion show coming up in the Spring!

The Great Wall

Lately, we've been enduring this miserable, below-freezing weather which results to lots of layering. Although I'm not too fond of the cold, I am excited to experiment more with some winter garments. Some people may view this season as being boring when it comes to styling because it's cold and most automatically respond by putting a large coat/jacket, and boots over a pair of jeans. Although I must admit, I sometimes have the exact mindset, especially during exam week, I still try to combine at least either one accessory or garment that adds interest. This will help in a better mood to start my day off.

E-Portfolio: Working Progress

In my pre-internship class, we are to complete an E-Portfolio. This will be a continuous working progress. Here are some sketches I have worked on and transferred onto Adobe Illustrator then Photoshoped for final editing. Here is the link to it if you're interested.

Final Interview Shooting

Today was the final day for the interview shooting. I literally ran around like a headless chicken trying to get everything prepared for this. Searching for as many designs I possibly could and organized my closet. I don't think my closet has ever looked as clean as it was today. Once the edits are done, I will definitely share them. After this shoot was over, I pulled my usual all-nighter finishing my final project for studio. What a day!
