Addicted to serging?

Finally had the courage to set my overlock/serger up! I never read the manuals to anything. Let me tell yah, that's never a smart idea. But I most definitely read my manual this time and it proved to be very helpful. It works like a gem. Many serging projects to come. That's for sure! I know this probably sounds funny but once I start serging, I can't stop. It's addicting!

Chaotic Scene

After loading myself with calories over Thanksgiving day, I decided to concur the chaotic Black Friday sales event. I definitely put Black Friday Sales to good use and probably emptied every penny I've got. It's crazy how retailers can control their consumers. The feeling that we get when knowing that we may have found the best deal will convince us to continue to purchase more and more. It's so silly. Like I feel that if I don't get it now, I won't ever find it again or cannot live without having this certain item. So for me, it's a love/hate relationship in that I love the fact that I'm finding great deals (or at least I think I did) but hate myself for spending so much. I guess in the end, the two balances out, leaving me to be a pretty pleased customer.

It's SANRIO'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY! So McDonald's new kid's meal consist of these cute little creatures! I'm such a little kid especially when it comes to Hello Kitty. So of course I instantly wanted my own collection. While I went to return some items at a nearby store, my bf knew I've been talking so much about this that he decided to surprise me with a kid's meal :)

Finally, at the end of the day, we went to pick our Christmas tree!

What I'm Thankful For

I'm thankful for a wonderful family that has been supportive and their health; for my bf who makes me feel so lucky everyday; for the friends that surround me.

I got my braces yesterday and I absolutely cannot even begin to describe the pain I've been going through. I had an interview today so needless to say, I was in awkward speech mode! I was super nervous considering this is the first interview I've ever done. By the end of the interview, my entire mouth felt like it was torn up by these metal braces. We will continue with the rest of the interview shooting this coming Wednesday. I can't wait to see the final edits!

So I got an email from a friend asking to do an interview with me on my closet and designs for her class project. I'm super excited and anxious at the same time! Interview next Tuesday then closet/design shootings will take place after Thanksgiving break! Can't wait!

For some reason, today has been another tiring day. One of those days where I just want to lay around and not do a thing. Went to class, had lunch with my roommates, then back to class. By the time I got back to the apartment, took the longest nap and still felt tired!

So as predicted, I had absolutely no sleep for several days! Last night we went to the bar for my roommate's birthday. That was a bad idea. I stayed up the entire night working on finishing touches and sketches. Took a mini nap for 30. min before going to class. So great to know that after a long night of work and no sleep, I will have to endure a super long day filled with classes from 9:30AM-8:45PM. I just discovered that not having enough sleep will give you terrible migraines! .... and a cold.

Took some time from my busy schedule to do some birthday shopping. Have a 45 min. presentation Monday and my swimsuit project due Tuesday along with sketches for new designs. I foresee no sleep for 3 straight days!

Went to pick up my 2 car doors to find that the office was closed for lunch and won't return till 3:30. GREAT! I have a group meeting at the same time! So had to ask my bf to do me the favor instead.

Today was surprisingly warm after a freezing week! Nice sunny days like this makes me want to have a picnic. Too bad my entire day was consumed with classes. Yay for no class/hump day tomorrow! Speaking of which... I need to pick up some car parts we just ordered. I doubt I will get to drive my baby around anytime soon. A very sad story.

So... guess who I bumped into after my studio class? Lovely miss Leah! I adore her outfit and of course had to stop her to snap some photos to share!

Today is our 2 year anniversary so honey and I spent all day celebrating it! Had such a wonderful day and the weather was great in that it didn't rain and pour on us.

I'm in THREADS which is a club that our department provided for students majoring in retail or apparel design. We have an annual fashion show every year and this year, we've partnered with Make A Wish Foundation to help make Hannah's wish of being in a fashion show come true. So today, we surprised Hannah! She had no clue and was super ecstatic when we asked her to model for the fashion show. It was great to witness such a moment and seeing how happy her mother was.

My wonderful mother made this beautiful knitted scarf for me. She's keeping me warm all winter long!! I wore this out and the only part of my body that was warm all day was my neck and face. Even my jacket couldn't keep me as warm! Thank you mommy!!
